Prada opens a new store in Mexico

Prada opens its first store in Monterrey, Mexico, inside the prestigious “El Palacio de Hierro” department store. The space, designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, covers a total area of approximately 180 square metres on a single level and houses the women’s and men’s leather goods, accessories, footwear and travel collections. The façade is characterised by strips of black marble framing the large corner entrance, while slim polished steel profiles highlight the display windows, the light boxes and the large floor-toceiling window that allows a glimpse of the interior.  The space is defined by the signature black-and-white marble chequered flooring – a legacy of Prada’s identity worldwide – and green fabric-clad walls. The women’s collections are showcased in Prada’s iconic green fabric-clad display niches, while the area dedicated to men is characterised by steel and crystal furnishings. Display counters with drawers covered in coloured saffiano leather and green velvet sofas create an elegant atmosphere.
