Burberry has today announced that it will celebrate fashion, music, and Britishness at an exclusive event to be staged at Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles on 16 April 2015. The event also marks the launch of its new flagship store on Rodeo Drive that opened in November. The event, to be hosted by Burberry’s Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer Christopher Bailey, will take place at the iconic venue in Griffith Park marking the first time a British luxury brand has used the location to celebrate Los Angeles and its communities. Christopher Bailey said, “It is an incredible honour and a huge privilege to be able to bring a little bit of Burberry’s hometown of London to such an iconic venue in the heart of Los Angeles. Griffith Observatory is a truly inspiring place and I would like to thank the City for allowing us to host our event there.” Eric Garcetti, Mayor of Los Angeles, said; “I’m excited to welcome Burberry to the City of Angels. Los Angeles is where the world comes to introduce what’s next – and as the apparel capital of the United States, our city is the ideal setting for iconic and innovative brands like Burberry to shine.” To celebrate the opening of the brand’s flagship and the Griffith Observatory event, Burberry is proud to be working with the non-profit group Friends Of The Observatory (FOTO) on a series of funded projects over the next two years.
