Aston Martin is lining up a selection of its heritage and modern sports cars as it prepares to takes its place at the inaugural London Classic Car Show. The British sports car maker, which celebrates its 102nd birthday on 15 January, is exhibiting a wide variety of models at the Show, which is being staged at ExCeL in London’s Docklands from Thursday, 8 January. The brand’s modern exhibits include its four-door, four-seat sports car – the Rapide S; the Vanquish Volante super GT and the track-inspired V8 Vantage N430. Aston Martin’s extensive history is represented by a fine example of its DB family in the form of a recently-restored 1970 DB6 MkII Vantage saloon. Meanwhile, a DB6 previously owned by Sir Paul McCartney will be running each day as part of the show’s unique twice-daily Grand Avenue parade, giving the thousands of visitors expected the chance to hear as well as see the car. Welcoming the arrival of the event, Aston Martin General Manager of UK & South Africa Sales Operations, Mark Kenworthy, said: “It’s great for Aston Martin to take a leading role in what I’m sure will quickly become a fixture on the UK’s motoring calendar. I’m confident our sports cars will draw the crowds, and I’m particularly looking forward to seeing our car on the move in the Grand Avenue parade.”
